# Your First Enrichio Product Enhancement: From Template to Shopify

The first time you open a new tool, the hardest question is not "how do I click this button." It is "what am I actually building, and how many steps until I see something real." I wanted Enrichio to answer that question honestly, before anyone loads a single product. So before you touch the app, here is the whole journey: what you will build, what you will load, what gets generated, and what you publish. No surprises, no missing steps.

I built this workflow after years of running product content by hand for Lotz Outdoors, a Shopify store that grew to roughly 60,000 products. The old process had no clear stages. It was an export, a spreadsheet, a chat window, a copy-paste, an import, and a hope that nothing broke. Enrichio replaces that with four visible steps: build a template, load products, generate, and review and publish. Your first enhancement will move through all four, usually in under an hour.

## Step 1: Build a template

Everything starts with a template, not a product. That order matters. A template is the reusable structure that decides how every future product listing will be organized: what comes first, what comes last, and what tone the writing should take. You are not writing one description. You are designing the format that many descriptions will follow.

In practice, this means deciding on a structure close to the five-part model that shapes good product content:

- A high-impact opening that states what the product is, who it is for, and the main benefit.
- A short summary that a shopper can scan in a few seconds.
- A feature and benefit list that connects each real feature to a reason it matters.
- A detailed description covering use, materials, design, and context.
- A technical specifications section with the facts a buyer needs to compare options.

You will also set global instructions, such as your brand tone or any claims you never want made, and you can refine instructions at the section level later. You only do this once per template. Every product you run through it afterward inherits the same structure automatically.

## Step 2: Load products from Shopify

Once a template exists, you load products directly from your Shopify catalog. There is no export file to manage and no spreadsheet to keep in sync. You are pulling live product data into Enrichio so you can look at it, sort it, and decide what to work on.

Loading is not publishing. Nothing changes on your storefront during this step. It is closer to opening a filtered view of your catalog: you can browse products, see which listings look thin or incomplete, and use description scores to help spot the pages most in need of attention. For a first enhancement, you do not need your whole catalog. A handful of products, maybe a dozen, is enough to see the workflow end to end and judge the results honestly.

## Step 3: Generate

With a template built and products loaded, you select which products to enrich and generate draft descriptions. This is where research and writing happen together. Enrichio is designed to look into the product, the brand, and relevant specifications rather than simply rephrasing whatever thin text the supplier gave you. The output follows the structure from your template, so the format for product one and product fifty will match.

What comes out of this step is a draft. It is not automatically true, and it is not automatically published. Think of generation as the first full pass at a much better listing, one you still get to read before anyone else does.

## Step 4: Review and publish

This is the step that protects your store. You preview each draft, check that the facts match the actual product, confirm the description is attached to the correct listing, and edit anything that needs a fix. Only after that review do you publish the approved content back to Shopify.

This step exists because of a specific memory. Before Enrichio, my process for updating listings involved re-importing a spreadsheet into Shopify and hoping the fields lined up. Sometimes they did not. Fields got overwritten, listings got mismatched, and I had no reliable way to know until a customer or a coworker noticed. Review and publish as a distinct, visible step means you are never one failed import away from a mess. Use available rollback or recovery tools if you need to undo a change, and always confirm their current behavior in the app before relying on them for anything urgent.

## What to expect from your first pass

Your first enhancement will probably take longer than your tenth, because you are also learning the template builder and getting a feel for what good instructions look like. That is normal. Here is a simple checklist for a first run:

1. Pick 5 to 15 products you know well, ideally with a mix of strong and weak existing descriptions.
2. Build one template using the five-part structure, with clear global instructions on tone and any claims to avoid.
3. Load only those products, not your entire catalog.
4. Generate drafts and read every one before touching publish.
5. Publish the ones that are accurate and ready. Send the rest back for another pass.

By the end, you should have a small set of listings that look like they came from the same store, with real specifications and benefits, built without a single spreadsheet. That result, more than any individual button, is what the four-step workflow is designed to produce.

## Where to go from here

Once you have run one product through the full loop, the workflow stops feeling abstract. You will understand what a template actually controls, what loading does and does not do, what a generated draft looks like before it is edited, and what review is protecting you from. From there, expanding to a larger batch of products is a matter of scale, not a new set of concepts.

Enrichio supports research and generation, but you should always verify facts on a new listing before publishing it, especially on your first few runs while you are still calibrating your template's instructions.
